Viagra for Geezers? O's Visit to Harlem, A Kinetic Opereration? and Sooooo Much More

  • Last week, Rep. Kucinich said Pres. Obama should be impeached. But as someone observed, there's a good case against impeachment. It's called, "Joe Biden."(Courtesy--Leno)

  • And speaking of Slo Joe Biden, he had to apologize to a political reporter recently. Evindentally, the reporter for the Orlando Sentinel was locked in a storage closet to prevent him for speaking to people before Slo Joe showed up. Another example of our "transparent" administration.

  • I just heard a story that Medicare has provided Viagra and other similar medications to seniors to the tune of millions. So now we have to pay up so some geezer can get it up? I certainly have empathy but giving a 95 year old Viagra is like giving a Playboy to a blind guy. Bottom line: if a geezer wants to make sure his "boys" can still have a good time--it should not be on our dime.

  • Oval Office Alert: The President is actually visiting the U.S. this week.

  • If you really want to understand how we train and target terrorism, I would urge you to read, The Journal of Counter Terrorism and Homeland Security International. Really good information provided throughout this publication. For example, this piece of trivia I find of interest: Since 9/11, there has not been one demonstration demonstration against Ben Laden in the Muslim world. But there have been many in support of him.

  • As you know, when you decide to go to a foreign country, it's a good idea to learn their customs. So let me prepare you should you decide to visit any predominent Muslim country. Some of their customs include, but are not limited to, the following: Public beheadings, public stoning (especially of women and gays), public amputations and public flogging. Don't say I didn't warn you.

  • Military bloggers are expressing their dissatisfaction with this Libyan operation.

  • Could that be because, once again, we've decided to call this excusion into Libya--A Kinetic Operation? If you recall, this administration referred to terrorism as--Man Made Disasters. INSANE.

  • President Obama will be headlining a fundraiser in Harlem tomorrow. That'll be a good opportunity for the folks in Harlem to see the president, considering Bill Clinton just closed his Harlem office to move to Wall Street. But there is one string attached: Anyone in Harlem wishing to see the President will have to fork over a few bucks--like almost $31,000 per-head (When Bubba was president--"per head"--had a tad different connotation).

  • Remember when during the 2008 campaign, the president claimed his election would mark , "the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal?" I don't know about anyone else--but our oceans appear to be erupting and our planet appears to be far from healing considering what's going on in the Middle East, N. Africa and our own broken economy. If I were Sen. Obama at the time, I would have pulled back from that promise--just a tad.

  • I often rant against the money we spend on Education considering so many schools are failing. But it's really the union leadership that's doing a lot of the harm in my opinion. For example, take the NY State United Teachers and their conferences. They spent almost $4 million on conferences last year alone. Since 2005, they've spent over $17 million on conferences. In fact, The United Federation of Teachers, an affiliate, spent almost $1.5 million on a 50th anniversary gala. And they don't stay at Motel 6. Oh, no. They like the Wyndham Princeton Forrestal Hotel (I've been there myself). They spent almost a million dollars there in just two years. Or the Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown where they spent almost $3 million since 2006. And, all of this money comes from union dues. One more thing. The president of this union makes almost $300 grand a year. He called the conferences, "training sessions." (NY Daily News)

  • I often take shots at Starbucks. But this time, I'll leave it to Penn and Teller: "For their 40th anniversary Starbucks has a new logo. They also have a new drink coming out. It's sugar free, fat-free and has no whipped cream. It's called coffee."

  • Peggy Noonan, the great speechwriter for Pres. Reagan and a conservative who became infatuated with the then, Sen. Obama, wrote a great piece this week entitled, "Talk To Us, Obama!" Well, it looks like the president is listening. He'll be speaking tonight.

  • What goes around, comes around. Pres. Carter failed to challenge Gadafi. But then Pres. Reagan made it clear, he was not going to tolerate the thug. During a National Security Council briefing, when an Admiral asked Reagan how far U.S. aircraft would be permitted to retaliate against Libyan aircraft, Reagan replied, "All the way into their hangar." In fact, in 1981, two of our F-14's had a confrontation with Libyan fighters which included Soviet MiGs. Our fighter pilots kept Reagan's promise after Libyan fighter jets locked on our F-14's. You've heard the expression, "he's sleeping with the fishes." Well, that's what happened to the Libyan pilots. In 1986, Reagan followed up with a few bombs that targeted Gadhafi's residence. Fortunately for Gadhafi, he decided to sleep outside in a tent, and we missed him. Nevertheless, as one commentator said, Gadhafi "received a rude awakening." He was relatively quiet after that for a few years.

  • It's been reported a poisonous Cobra escaped from the Bronx Zoo this weekend. Folks, if I were that Cobra, I'd be the one afraid slithering around the Bronx.

  • Last week, I remarked that "Operation Odyssey Dawn" sounds to much like a dish washing liquid. I'm taking that back. I suspect the guy who created this term was visiting a strip joint the night before. And I betcha, he met one of the strippers. And her name was: Odyssey Dawn.
