Boehner or Boner?; What Is U.S. Role In The Future?; Glenn Beck; Trump vs. Mitt

The CEO of Starbucks announced his intention to expand the coffee shop into a grocery business. I can't wait to buy a $4 tomato. {Conan}
  • A man on a child's 3 Wheel Big bike wanted to prove how slow some city buses are in NYC. He challenged the M42 bus that goes cross town. The guy on the 3 wheeler beat the bus by two minutes and 38 seconds over a mile course {NY Daily News}.
  • Well, it's crunch time with the budget. Let's see who will blink first. Boehner has a chance to be either a hero or change the pronunciation of his name to "boner."
  • Having said this, we need to understand this entire process is just smoke and mirrors. These nitwits we have in congress are debating over a few billion dollars. In comparison to the overall debt and deficit, it's like debating whether you will spend $1 or 99.99999999 cents.
  • One more thing. How come congress spent almost 14 months jamming a health care plan down our throats, but can't come to an agreement regarding a budget for two years now?
  • And if there is a shutdown, don't fret. We will hardly notice it. Shutdowns by state or local municipalities would have a greater impact on us than the Fed shutting down. About the worst thing that we might notice is that we won't be able to visit the Statue of Liberty for a few days.
  • With all that is going on this week including the budget battle and Libya, why is Pres. Obama campaigning so much this week? I really get the impression this president has a hard time choosing priorities.
  • Questions are being asked regarding what America's role will be in the future regarding international conflicts. In my opinion, Cal Thomas, a conservative columnist, and Bob Beckel, a liberal Democrat strategist, asked two good questions in USA Today: What is America's role in the world? (in this age of terrorism). And, when and where should we deploy our forces? It appears that the U.S. will always be part of a larger coalition going into the future.
  • As this is being debated, NATO announced today they fear a "war without end" in Libya {Spiegal}.
  • Glenn Beck's leaving Fox does not surprise me. Although he's not as malicious or venomous as he's portrayed by the Left, he's all too often appeared to creepy---in my opinion. Hey, if I'm going to criticize, as I do, yo-yo's like Mathews, Herr Olberman and Shultz, I have to be fair. Beck, at times, crossed the line and looked a tad koo-koo.
  • The latest WSJ/NBC Poll is showing Romney to be an early front runner for the Republicans with Trump on his tail. Trump tied Huck. He's ahead of Newt and the rest of the Republican crowd--at this point in time.
  • If immigration continues as it is, white children will be a minority in the U.S. by the next Census (2020).
