7 Billion On Earth Today, Occupy Crowds Get Ugly; They Are Becoming the 1%; Socialism Always Morphs Into Totalitarianism; Romney Gets Hammered by The Right; Another Energy Company Goes Bust; Libyan Rebels: Who Are They Exactly?

"Study Finds Every Style Of Parenting Produces Disturbed, Miserable Adults."---The Onion

"...The study did find, however, that adults often achieve temporary happiness when they have children of their own to perpetuate the cycle of human misery." (concluding paragraph of the piece)

"Obama Would Be Hard-Pressed To Find A VP Better Than Biden."---Bloomberg News by Maragret Carlson not a headline from The Onion but it should be. Ms. Carlson is actually one of the dumbest columnists in news today. If you want to challenge me on that---just watch her on TV. I'm confident you will come to the same conclusion.
  • Before I start, I need to write a correction. In an earlier post, I said Trumpka, head of the AFL-CIO, is in the top 1% (he supports the Occupy crowd). The threshold for being part of the 1% is $342 grand. He makes about $300 grand. That means he's in the top 1.1%. Sorry.
  • Today we've reached a milestone: 7 billion people inhabit the planet. And, one thing is still certain with all these inhabitants, Sen. Harry Reid is still an ahole. By the way, how fast did we reach 7 billion?  In 1900, there were 1.6 billion on earth.---USA Today
  • Have you noticed how many in the Occupy movement---the Pee Party---circled the wagons around the Iraq war vet who was injured last week? Under normal circumstances, it's this same crowd that can't stand the military. These are the same people who don't want military recruiters on campuses.
  • The Occupy crowds had clashes and some attacked police officers in several cities including NYC, Denver, Austin, San Diego, Portland, Nashville and Phoenix. In fact, if you are interested in seeing what the main stream media is not showing us, go to Brietbart online. They've been showing what fake, phony and frauds the Pee Party really is.
  • Political cartoon shows a map of the U.S. Above the map, it says, "The 99%." But right above Washington, D.C., it says, "The 1%" Exactly.
  • Last week, it was reported in several NYC newspapers that the Occupy crowd were angry at many homeless coming in and getting free meals and using their spaces in the park. Some commentators pointed out they are becoming like the 1% they despise by refusing to share their food with those less fortunate. So, it's fine to redistribute wealth---as long as it not theirs.
  • And now there are reports they are major disagreements within the Pee Party from arguing over money and power to the bureaucracy they are creating. As Michael Goodwin of the NY Post pointed out so well, "Running a protest movement apparently involves a lot of dirty work and isn't so much fun. Imagine how hard it will be to run the world!." Goodwin also pointed out the Marxists group---Alliance for Global Justice---has control over the money raised by the Occupiers. But there's some concern the Alliance is taking a 7% cut for managing the Pee Party's money---welcome to the real world!!
  • Friedrich Hayek, a Nobel Prize winning economist wrote during WWII that socialism morphs into totalitarianism as central governments grab ever more power. He said the leaders are usual the 'worst elements' who excel at repeating simple ideas to gullible masses. In other words---hail the useful idiots folks.
  • Romney got hammered by the Right this weekend. In George Will's column this week, he actually wrote, "Republicans may have found their Michael Dukakis, a technocratic Massachusetts governor who takes his bearings from 'data' and who believe elections should be about 'competence,' not 'ideology.'" (Dukakis lost in an electoral college landslide to Bush 41 in 1988).
  • And Brit Hume of Fox News essentially said Romney's character is in question because Romney has flip-flopped way to many times on important issues. Brit said Romney has exhausted his quota of flip-flops. You know what?---Hume is right.
  • The Hill is reporting another energy company that got a humongous loan from the government went broke. The company, Beacon Power, received a $43 million loan.
  • This from AP today, "The country's {Libya} leaders have appealed for restraint, but seem unable to control revolutionary forces whose recent vigilante acts, including the suspected killing of Gadafi, have begun to tarnish their heroic image abroad..." Another example of that "peaceful" Arab Spring the Left likes to proclaim even as Christians keep being slaughtered in Egypt.
  • Herman Cain is being accused of sexual harassment by two former female employees. I'm somewhat skeptical. If you recall, the Left attacked Justice Clarence Thomas of the same when he was nominated for the Supreme Court. It appears attacking him as not being a genuine African-American is not working---duh! So what is left? Attack him for alleged sexual harassment. I want to hear more about this before I pass any judgement.
